Bloomberg on Franklin - Updated Photos

The mayor stopped by the Pulp & Bean for breakfast this morning to congratulate Tony Fisher and his family on the opening of Bob & Betty's. According to Tony, it was the first time a mayor has visited the Avenue since he's been here. Assemblyman Karim Camara was on hand for the celebration as well.

  1. that's awesome!

Also, Nick, what's going on with your pics? On my computer, at least, your pics show up fine and then become darker and an inverse-image of what is above. Like a mirror in the dark below the picture you posted.

  2. Yeah, that appears to be a strange by-product of posting from my new phone - I'm trying to figure out how to fix it. Thanks!

  3. What's with the outfit change? Did Tony have to change his shirt cause he was sweating so much?

  5. Very cool, but was that the sole reason for the mayor's visit? Seems odd that he'd stop by for a small business opening.

  7. Two quick things - first, the photo with the mayoral proclamation was actually taken on Friday (hence the different shirt Tony's wearing) with a representative from State Senator Eric Adams' office. Secondly, I'm pretty sure that showing some love to the Fisher family and Crown Heights in general was the Mayor's sole intention - he does "pop-up" visits like this from time to time. I didn't get a chance to stick around, but apparently after his breakfast with Karim Camara, he and the Assemblyman stood outside shaking hands and posing for photos with passers-by for 10-15 minutes. The folks who did get a chance to say hello said Mayor Mike was very affable and approachable, which is, no doubt, the goal of such a visit.
