From their FB page:
Dear Community,
It is our pleasure to inform you that next Friday, November 30th, MySpaceNYC will join Mrs. Noelle, a local resident and humanitarian, in feeding the community. Mrs. Noelle presented the amazing cause to our staff members and we're pleased to be apart of this event. We will set up two tables on the side walk in front of Mrs. Noelle's residence, at 568 Franklin Ave, and we will provide enough food to feed at least 150 people. We're happy to assist Mrs. Noelle and thankful to be apart of this.
Hope you plan to join us! 4 days to go!

Ha, MySpaceNYC, good gesture...but we all know it's a calculated move!
ReplyDeleteMrs Noelle great job as usual!! Good look for MySpace and how can we volunteer?
ReplyDeleteBizarre ... what is the strategy? Who are these 150 people? Homeless or hungry? People who live on the block? Seems like people who just wander by ... since there's no time given.
ReplyDeletewho are they feeding? Seems like a PR move.
ReplyDeleteThis Friday at 11:30am and it's for the homeless. Ms. Noelle told us that she approached the realtor and asked for help. From my understanding she visits the homeless shelters and invites them to a warm plate of food yearly. How about you guys just talk to Ms. Noelle and give her a helping hand instead bashing the event. since when does a charity turn into anarchy? jealousy will get you no where.
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone is bashing the event or is jealous. I think the commenters are pointing out the fact that MySpace bases its practices on unethical procedures and suddenly is a goody goody handing out pies with some lovely Franklin ave resident...in case you missed that. Like another commenter said, seems like calculated timing for MySpace. In any case, Mrs. Noelle sounds like a lovely caring person and I hope the event goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteThe announcement is bizarre - it excludes basic information that someone would need to participate, while highlighting the relationship with community "humanitarian," Ms. Noelle. Clearly the intended audience for this note is not the people who are going to eat the meals on Friday.
ReplyDeleteThis event is today, but ILFA's at work - if anyone goes, share a report on the proceedings (and photos if you have 'em would be most appreciated).
